NOVEMBER FIRST

From The Planning Committee

At present we are finalizing the opening night events as well as the final list of plenary speakers for Trento. Invitations to the plenary speakers will go out within the next two weeks.

We are also in the midst of fund raising (a challenging time!)

The call for papers will open on

March 1, 2009 and close on June 30, 2009.

On September 1, 2009, we will send out notification as to whether the proposals are accepted.

Details regarding proposal submissions will follow in the December newsletter and in every subsequent letter.

Finally, there will also be a call for posters. That call will be explained in the December newsletter as well.

Questions and comments are welcomed

Jim Keenan

Scholarship Fund For the Advanced Training of African Women in Theological Ethics

Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church has received funding for a scholarship programme for the advanced training of African women in theological ethics. The programme will enable qualified African women to undertake academic and professional training in moral theology and theological ethics at both graduate (Masters) and post-graduate (PhD) levels.

The programme is open to women from all over Africa, with particular emphasis on Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. Qualified candidates will study at designated universities in Africa.

Interested candidates should submit a study proposal by e-mail to the director of the Scholarship Programme, Agbonkhianmeghe Orobator, EMAIL: wadoghe@yahoo.co.uk

Proposals should include and describe area(s) of concentration, duration and total cost of study, additional sources of support or sponsorship, as well as future work/ministry in which the skills and formation gained will be applied, including promoting the formation and training of African women in basic theological ethics.

We hope to have candidates in place in January 2009
